At Core Orthopedics, we offer a variety of alternative treatments to surgery, including regenerative medicine such as stem cell therapy. Here are some of the stem cell therapy treatments we offer:

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a ground-breaking treatment that uses proteins known as growth factors. Growth factors are naturally occurring substances that enhance the healing process of injuries. PRP utilizes the patients’ blood after being separated into red blood cells and plasma. It is a popular treatment for sports injuries and has been used by many professional athletes to help their injuries heal quicker. It is also often used after surgery to help patients recover faster.

Is PRP therapy right for me?

If you have injured a tendon, ligament, or joint, PRP therapy could help you heal quicker. It is commonly used to treat osteoarthritis of the knee, shoulder, hip, and spine, rotator cuff tears, ACL injuries, back and neck injuries, tennis elbow, tendonitis, ligament sprains, and many more injuries. Ask your doctor if PRP therapy is right for you.

Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cell therapy can be used to treat a range of diseases, injuries, and conditions. It is a form of regenerative medicine that uses the body’s natural healing mechanism to renew and repair damaged tissues. It is a great non-surgical treatment for people with joint injuries, arthritis, and more. Stem cells are naturally occurring healing cells that everyone has, but with age they can occur less often in certain areas. Getting stem cell injections in injured areas can help facilitate revitalization of damaged tissues.

Commonly used to treat tendonitis, tendon and ligament sprains, and other soft tissue injuries in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and feet, AmnioFix is a human amniotic membrane graft. It comes in a powdered form so that our doctors can deliver the amniotic membrane through an injection.

How does AmnioFix work?

AmnioFix contains over 57 growth factors, which are naturally occurring substances that stimulate cellular growth, healing, and differentiation. These growth factors help to minimize inflammation, reduce scar tissue formation, increase healing in soft tissue applications, and regenerate damaged tissue. The following are the most notable growth factors included in AmnioFix:

  • Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-ß)
  • Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF)
  • Platelet Derived Growth Factor A & B (PDGF AA & BB)

Is AmnioFix right for me?

AmnioFix can greatly benefit patients who have been diagnosed with a tendon or soft tissue injury. If conservative treatments, such as anti-inflammatories, physical therapy, and bracing have not reduced your inflammation, then AmnioFix would be a great alternative treatment for you.
