Dr. Krob is the newest member of the CORE Orthopedics team, joining in fall 2025 following completion of Orthopedic Spine Surgery Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Northern California in Oakland, CA. He is Board Eligible for Orthopaedic Spine Surgery under the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).
Dr. Krob is a Chicagoland native, born in Elmhurst, IL and raised in Wheaton, IL. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL after earning his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. During his medical education, he also completed a research fellowship at the Steadman-Philippon Research Institute in Vail, CO, as well as research in the Hines VA Laboratory under world-renowned faculty, Dr. Avinash Patwardhan, focusing on biomechanical spine and orthopedic research.
Throughout his career, he has published numerous papers in a variety of peer-reviewed journals including North American Spine Society, American Journal of Sports Medicine. He maintains memberships to the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He is committed to life-long education by attending annual conferences to continuously provide evidenced-based, state-of-the-art treatment options for his patients.
During his fellowship in spine surgery, Dr. Krob learned minimally-invasive spine decompression and fusion techniques, and has a passion for performing endoscopic spine procedures. His clinical spine practice focuses on operative and nonoperative spine pathology such as stenosis, trauma/fractures, disc herniations, spondylolisthesis, and scoliosis among others. He also cares for general orthopedic injuries and extremity fractures.
Dr. Krob is licensed to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin, expanding access to care for patients. He has directed his journey through his medical education towards the goal of serving and caring for the people of Chicagoland and the Midwest.
With training in both spine and general orthopedic surgery, he is committed to providing the highest level of care to all of his patients. He strives to ensure each of his patients and their families feels valued and welcomed, and genuinely enjoys the art of educating patients on their orthopedic and spine pathologies and treatment options. Above all else, Dr. Krob strives towards the goal of returning patients to their activities and lives as quickly as possible.
In his free time, Dr. Krob enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and dog, Macy. He enjoys playing golf, exercise, skiing/snowboarding, exploring new cuisines and watching sports. He is an avid Chicago fan (Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks).
